Boom, bang, fizz, wow!
Science will come to life this year at CarFest with Winchester Science Centre.
Watch explosive live shows, get hands-on with funfilled interactive workshops and be wowed by exciting ‘don’t-try-this-athome’ demos.
Mini scientists and their families are also invited to get hands-on with interactive workshops.
In Destination Space you’ll discover all about the James Webb Telescope and explore the properties of light. What happens if we use diffraction to break light into its basic parts? Let’s find out together! And in Rocketships it’s time to design and launch your very own rocket. Make sure you maximise their flying potential and make them aerodynamic, then let the countdown begin!
And don’t miss the Science Live demos. Watch as the science Inspirers hold fire in their hands and harness the power of electricity using a Van de Graaf generator.
These are definitely not ones to try at home! Plus drop in at any time to investigate the use of light reflection with the laser maze games and get up close and personal with nature using our visualiser microscope.
*Sensory notice – some of these activities contain flashing lights and some sudden sounds, where flames are lit or when rapid combustion reactions take place. Some heat can be flet by the audience during one activity, where some large flames are generated. *
