2026 marks CarFest’s first year at Silverstone, the home of British motorsport. From hosting the first ever Formula 1 race in 1950 to shaping decades of racing history, Silverstone has been at the heart of the action for over 75 years, and now it’s home to CarFest too.
Beyond the festival gates, Silverstone opens up a whole circuit of things to see and do. Here’s what’s on offer.
SILVERSTONE MUSEUM
Step into the heart of British Motorsport at Silverstone Museum for FREE with your CarFest 2026 ticket. Explore immersive exhibits, legendary cars, and the stories of racing heroes that shaped history. Whether you’re a motorsport fan or curious about British heritage, the Silverstone Museum promises an unforgettable, high-speed adventure!
Journey through the history of Silverstone, from its roots as a Second World War RAF, to hosting the first Formula 1 race in 1950, to iconic bike racing battles over the years, to modern day.
Take in the wide range of exhibits telling the tale of British Motorsport from its birth through to modern day in our limited-time feature exhibition, Driven by Design. Get up close to iconic vehicles such as Nigel Mansell’s iconic Williams FW14B, Valentino Rossi’s Championship-winning Aprilia, and Lando Norris’ first McLaren F1 car.
Get an insight into the technical side of motorsport in our Tech Lab. Learn about key parts of motorsport engineering such as aerodynamics, braking, engines and more with a range of interactive exhibits.
SIM SUITE AT SILVERSTONE:
Follow the racing lines of legends in a state-of-the-art Sim Suite, powered by Fanatec. The 30 minute racing simulator experience allows you to try your skills out in the latest cars around Silverstone – the home of British motorsport. From casual drivers to pro gamers, the rigs have fully customisable settings to really put your skills to the test. Spaces are limited and sure to sell out fast, so prebook to avoid disappointment!
BLACK CATS & CHEQUERED FLAGS:
Created and Produced by MIAT, now available for the first time in the UK at Silverstone Museum. Black Cats & Chequered Flags is a multiplayer immersive Mixed Reality (MR) and Virtual Reality (VR) experience that tells the story behind the life of Alberto Ascari, the first double F1 World Champion and a prominent feature at the start of Grand Prix racing here at Silverstone. KART SILVERSTONE
Kart Silverstone is a brand-new, state-of-the-art circuit based at the heart of Silverstone. Perfect for first-time karters and those with experience behind the wheel, Kart Silverstone features five different track configurations designed for every type of racer. Guarantee adrenaline with top speeds up to 55mph, sharpen your skills, settle friendly scores, or just feel the thrill of the race. Whether it’s your first lap or your five-hundredth, Kart Silverstone has the right experience for you.
Juniors (ages 8-15) and Adults (ages 14+) are all welcome to experience Kart Silverstone throughout CarFest, with sessions starting from £30 running every day of the festival.
CHOOSE FROM A VARIETY OF SESSIONS, INCLUDING:
- Open Laps: Get a taste for the track and practice your skills in race-free sessions with recorded lap times
- Sprint Race (Juniors only): Practice on the track for 10 minutes then race against others in a 20-minute challenge
- Silverstone 30 (Adults only): Practice for 10 minutes then race for a spot on the podium over 30 minutes
