Ellen Manning

Ellen Manning is a journalist, food writer, food judge and award-winning blogger. She writes newspaper and magazine articles on food and drink, as well as books, and is also award-winning food and travel blogger.

Ellen is a longstanding judge on the Great Taste Awards, Regional Chair for the Class Bar Awards and has also judged on the National Fish & Chip Awards and Quality Food Awards.

She’s a regular festival host and this will be her fourth year hosting CarFest’s Cook’s Companion stage, as well as previously hosting the Chef’s Demo stage at Pub in the Park, and Truro and Falmouth Food Festivals. She is a regular commentator on food and drink on TV and radio, including BBC radio and Channel 5’s Gadget Show.

Aside from writing about, judging and presenting on food, Ellen runs her own PR consultancy, EMPR. Originally from the Midlands, she now lives in Cornwall and when she’s not doing all of the above, you’ll most likely find her with her husband and two dogs exploring in their campervan, and probably enjoying a bite to eat somewhere.

A firm sceptic of food fads and nutritional nonsense, Eva champions whole, flavour-packed food that works in real life. Her cookery demos blend practical cooking tips with smart nutrition know-how, while her talks offer clear, science-led insights that are empowering instead of overwhelming.
