In 1974, a group of amateur racers formed a club to encourage cheap racing for popular saloon vehicles from the 1950s and early 1960s. The Austin A35, Morris Minor, and other sportscars had been left out for a long time. Owners could “arrive and drive” back then (only needing a crash helmet and licence to compete).
The Club has grown to include eight championships from Pre 66 to our new 2022 Championship - Super Tourers, which featured during the British Touring Car Championship's golden heyday in the 1990s.

The MR2 Drivers' Club has been running for over 33 years - nearly as long as the MR2 itself! Endorsed by Toyota GB, we attend and organise meets all year round, ranging from social lunches over winter to scenic drives and static shows all summer. In 2023, the Club is attending over 140 events nationally, including our own annual highlight the MR2DC National Day, when over 400 MR2s gather together for the day. Whether your MR2 is Mk1, Mk2 or Mk3, spotless or muddy, concours or rusty - all are welcome to join us for just £15 a year!
Our summer meetings usually involve a drive to a rural pub that serves good food but our winter meetings tend to involve activities that can be done in the bar. Apart from our monthly meetings we visit local car shows or attractions of interest. We also like to get to different parts of the UK or Europe in our MGs. If you haven’t taken your MG abroad yet, then you should . The roads are quiet, the food, the accommodation and the company are all excellent and the Europeans are really friendly to the classic car owner. In short, any excuse to get away.
Our evening meetings usually start about 7-00pm / 7-30pm on the last Tuesday of the month when we have a local drive organised. Occasionally we meet on a Saturday morning. If Covid taught us one thing it is the need to be flexible and mix things up a little to add variety and interest. It also helps for those who might have commitments on regular club nights.
If you have an MG, or are interested in MGs then please come along to one of our meets and try us out. You can use our contact form to get in touch and find out where we will be next.

Sporting Bears are starting CarFest Dream Rides on track offering the Rolls-Royce Spectre, a truly revolutionary vehicle, blending the timeless elegance and craftsmanship, with cutting-edge electric technology.
The experience of riding in the Spectre at CarFest will always be something very special: luxurious leather, exquisite wood trim, and that magical ride quality that Rolls-Royce is known for. Add to that the jaw-dropping 900Nm of torque, and you’re looking at a car that offers a perfect mix of agile, powerful performance with the serene, almost ethereal ride comfort Rolls-Royce has perfected over the years.
Ferrari’s new 2-seater sports car with a 120° V6 engine and hybrid powertrain, this car is a game-changer. This combination delivering 830HP offers an unforgettable CarFest experience, whether on the track or cruising the open roads. For CarFesters, the contrast between the raw, thrilling acceleration on the track and the smooth, serene power delivery on the open roads really highlights the versatility and engineering genius behind the Ferrari.
Aston Martin has built an iconic legacy. From dominating Le Mans to becoming James Bond’s car of choice with the legendary DB5. Their evolution into Formula 1 is a testament to their relentless pursuit of performance and innovation. At CarFest, you’ll have the chance to take your Dream Ride in the stunning Aston Martin DBS.
This 1997 Continental T SuFaCon (Superfast Continental) is a true powerhouse, packing 600BHP and 1030Nm of torque. Originally built for a Bruneian royal who commissioned 28 engines for £28 million, one of those £1 million engines now powers this one-of-a-kind Bentley.
CarFesters and track marshals love the Lola. Every year, it’s the first car to be fully booked. Just hearing this 1960s racing icon roar into life puts a smile on everyone's face. And when passengers return from the track and road run, they’re grinning ear to ear.
With a power-to-weight ratio higher than a Bugatti Veyron, this Lola moves. No driver aids, just raw, vintage power. It’s not a Ferrari—it’s the Lola T70 Special Can-Am, with original bodywork mounted on a period tubular hillclimb chassis from the early '80s.
The GT40 needs no introduction. Built by Ford to beat Ferrari at Le Mans after Enzo Ferrari snubbed a buyout deal, it famously claimed a 1-2-3 finish at the 24-hour race.
An original GT40 will set you back a few million—but this stunning CAV recreation offers a near-perfect experience. Drop below the iconic 40” roofline, mind your head as the door closes, and fire up the Ford V8 behind you.
Just imagine racing this for 24 hours as you feel the thrill on track and soak up the drive on open roads.
CarFesters asked for more Fast Fords in 2025, and we delivered. Following the legendary GT40, we bring you one of America’s most iconic muscle cars: the 1967 Mustang GTA Fastback.
This rare beauty is one of just 1,178 built in San Jose, now fitted with a thunderous 351 Windsor 5.7L engine. Quite possibly the loudest Fastback you’ll ever hear!
Continuing the Fast Fords theme at CarFest, meet the modern muscle: the Deranged Pony. This heavily modified 5.0L Mustang GT blends supercar performance with a family-friendly twist, and it’s seriously fun.
With a Vortech supercharger delivering that signature whine and a 0–60 time under 4 seconds (even with 3 passengers), it’s a head-turning thrill machine. No prancing pony here, just pure American growl, speed, and adrenaline on the track.
Thanks to Wilton Knight, KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) is coming to CarFest, driven by our very own UK version of Michael Knight! This is your chance to relive the glory days of ‘80s TV, when Knight Rider lit up our screens and we only had four channels.
This 1987 black Pontiac Trans Am has been professionally converted into a stunning replica of the original KITT, complete with a working dash, PMD interior, external sounds, and even a dash signed by David Hasselhoff himself. It was used for official UK promo work for the series—so yes, it’s the real deal.
KITT talks, reacts, and yes, will absolutely call you Michael.
The 1967 split-screen Microbus is BACK, and it’s a CarFest favourite for good reason! This iconic ride, driven all the way from Guernsey (ferry included), brings vibrant personality, retro vibes, and serious smiles-per-mile.
Hop in for a cruise around the track, gaze through all 21 windows, or stand up and wave through the pull-back roof. It’s pure CarFest joy.
It may not be the fastest, but it’s definitely the most fun.
Even Ed China took this beauty for a spin, cementing its legend as one of the quirkiest, happiest rides around!
