Ben West is one of the most engaged mental health campaigners in the UK, committed to making real change around mental health in our society. At just 22 years old Ben has already won a Pride of Britain Award, The Diana Award and the Mental Health Hero Award as part of the The Sun Who Cares initiative. He has also spoken on ITV News and BBC Newsbeat, among others, about mental health. The sudden and unexpected loss of his brother to suicide three years ago propelled Ben to take positive action from this tragedy and concentrate his pain into a drive to campaigning around mental health awareness, suicide prevention and fundamentally changing how we approach mental health, especially in schools and the education system.
Born in York, England, Richard Stuttle trained as a chef and honed his skills in fine dining restaurants and hotels around the UK. He has always had a love for travel and spent over ten years travelling and working around Europe. His creativity moved him into the arts and became an accomplished watercolour and oil painter, exhibiting in the UK, France and USA. In 2002 Richard was one of the founding members of Caroline’s Rainbow Foundation, which was formed after his sister’s murder in Australia. He has worked with the charity throughout the years, developing many travel safety projects and speaking to thousands of students about the importance of their safety when abroad. Richard continues to paint and write daily as well as running workshops to develop art, creativity and sensitivity. Bryony Gordon
Bryony is a celebrated English journalist and author, and the founder of Mental Health Mates. Having had her own struggles with mental health, Bryony had a revelatory experience in 2016. She wanted to find a way of bringing people together to find their ‘we,’ instead of experiencing the loneliness and isolation that she had so often felt herself. She took to Twitter and invited anyone and everyone to join her in Hyde Park to walk and talk without fear or judgment. Apprehensive as to whether anyone would show up, she arrived to find 20 people waiting for her. From that point, Mental Health Mates was born and has continued to develop and grow. Bryony comes to CarFest to divulge her experiences, stories, and general views on wellness this Summer.

Richard is a British music producer, songwriter, bass guitar player and founding member of the rock band The Feeling. The series began with SilverFin and was followed by Blood Fever, Double or Die, Hurricane Gold and By Royal Command. All five novels entered the children’s bestseller charts in the top five.
Frank Cottrell-Boyce
Frank is an English screenwriter, novelist and occasional actor, known for his children's fiction and for his collaborations with film director Michael Winterbottom. He has achieved fame as the writer for the 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony and for sequels to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: The Magical Car, a children's classic by Ian Fleming. He has won two major British awards for children's books, the 2004 Carnegie Medal for Millions, which originated as a film script, and the 2012 Guardian Prize for The Unforgotten Coat.
Francesca Simon
Francesca and started writing stories from the age of eight. She then went to Yale and Oxford Universities to study medieval history and literature. She threw away a lucrative career as a medievalist and worked as a freelance journalist, writing for the Sunday Times, Guardian, Mail on Sunday, Telegraph, and Vogue (US). It was reading so many stories to her son Joshua, that encouraged her to start writing children’s books and many of Francesca’s stories have been inspired by real life situations. One of Francesca’s most successful and irrepressible creations has been the famous (or should that be infamous) Horrid Henry, who first appeared in 1994. Horrid Henry has gone on to conquer the globe and his adventures are published in 31 languages, and have sold over 21 million of copies worldwide. Francesca is one of the nation’s most popular authors and has written over fifty books for children of all ages. When she is not writing, Francesca is often encouraging and inspiring young writers and has judged many writing competitions for schools.
Jonny Meah
Jonny Meah is one of the most exciting young presenters in the industry. At just 27 years old, Jonny can be heard on Heart – the biggest commercial radio station in the U.K. You may have also seen him on BBC One, presenting on flagship shows such as The One Show and Morning Live, Sunday Morning Live, and Inside Out. On top of this, Jonny has presented a ground-breaking documentary, with millions of views on YouTube, voiced for big names such as ITV, Radio 1, MTV and many more; he is also a regular host at the historic SSE Wembley Arena.
Helen Sanderson
Helen is a psychotherapist, interior designer and one of the UK’s most well-respected clutter experts, appearing regularly on TV, radio and podcasts. Her book, The Secret Life of Clutter, has been described as ‘a love letter to clarity’. Helen helps people create beautifully organised, clutter-free homes and live more mindful and meaningful lives. Diane Louise Jordan
Diane is a British TV presenter and actress. She is extremely well-recognised across the UK for her roles in Blue Peter and Coronation Street. Diane is a Christian and can currently be seen presenting BBC One’s religious programme, Songs of Praise. She also is vice-president of Action for Children, sits on the Council of the Prince’s Trust and is a trustee for the BBC’s Children in Need.
Bryony Gordon
Bryony is a celebrated English journalist and author, and the founder of Mental Health Mates. Having had her own struggles with mental health, Bryony had a revelatory experience in 2016. She wanted to find a way of bringing people together to find their ‘we,’ instead of experiencing the loneliness and isolation that she had so often felt herself. She took to Twitter and invited anyone and everyone to join her in Hyde Park to walk and talk without fear or judgment. Apprehensive as to whether anyone would show up, she arrived to find 20 people waiting for her. From that point, Mental Health Mates was born and has continued to develop and grow. Bryony comes to CarFest to divulge her experiences, stories, and general views on wellness this Summer.
Dapper Dave
Dave, most famous for his role on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show, is a comedy actor, writer, and presenter. In 2009, the short film CGI-Brows, which Dave starred in, won the People's Choice Award in the Virgin Media Shorts competition. David went on to write and perform a series of sketches for Channel 4's Big Brother's Big Mouth and performed numerous sketch comedies for BBC Comedy Feeds and Channel 4's Comedy Blaps. In 2013 he was one of the regular presenters on the Hat Trick Productions comedy YouTube channel Bad Teeth and in 2015 he starred in ITV's The Delivery Man alongside Darren Boyd and Brotherhood on Comedy Central.
Rob Pope
Rob is a British veterinarian, athlete, and charity fundraiser. He’s one of Britain’s best known ultrarunners - the term used for those who find their fun beyond the marathon distance. Host of the weekly podcast, Red Bull: How to be Superhuman, Rob speaks to athletes who have undertaken seemingly superhuman feats of endurance, finding out how these athletes found the strength to push themselves to the limits of their physical and mental potential. He strives to inspire and motivate people to go out and discover their own limits.
Helen Rutter
Helen Rutter is an author, stand up comedian and actress, and has featured in TV series such as Coronation Street and Holby City. More recently, she has focused on her true passion of writing children’s books, like the brilliant and witty ‘The Boy Who Made Everyone Laugh’, described by Jacqueline Wilson as ‘a delight’.
